About Us

The Independent Legal Services Commission (ILSC) was established under the Legal Practitioners Act 2009  and commenced operation in October 2009. The ILSC consists of the Commissioner, a Secretary of the Commission and such other staff as are necessary for the operations of the Commission.

The pages in this section provide information about the Commissioner and other information about the ILSC – our staff, our staffing structure and organisational arrangements.

Importantly you can learn about the function and purpose of ILSC to hear and determine complaints against legal practitioners. Further information is provided about the fundamental purposes and values of the ILSC and the strategies we employ to demonstrate those purposes and values.
