Volunteer Internship Opportunity


The internship provides an opportunity for law students to have supervised practical experience, in planning and implementing key aspects of legal research and writing.   Please note the internship is unpaid and is only available for 2 weeks during the Commission’s sitting period of February, April, July, September and November.


The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Critically analysing the operation of the law;
  • Observation of hearings;
  • Reading case files;
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Commission’s Annual Report;
  • Legal research;
  • Proof-reading judgments;
  • Preparation of case summaries; and
  • Assisting with the Commission’s website.

To be considered for this position, applicants should preferably have:

  • Organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Good communication skills; and
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
